On November 15, 2023, the 15th Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum took place in Barcelona, Spain; an event organised by ASCAME and the Association of Organizations of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME) with the collaboration of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce.
The event brought together prominent businesswomen, proficient women entrepreneurs, world leaders, partners from the public and private sectors and entrepreneurs from all over the Mediterranean to discuss the integration of women in the economy.
“Inequalities in the business sector” were the major focus of the session, analysing their deep roots, ranging from cultural factors to insufficient support for women-led businesses, the lack of policy frameworks to address the gender gap and the challenge of promoting work-life balance, among others.
The gathering provided the participants with a zone to interact, network and share their thoughts on various constraints existing in the path of female entrepreneurship including access to capital, finding the perfect mentor, understanding the regulatory and legal landscape.
This Forum constitutes the largest businesswomen entrepreneurial gathering designed to accelerate the growth of women-owned businesses through access to information, contacts and capital.
