On April 25 and 26, 2024, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - USEK hosted the Third International Symposium on Entrepreneurship: "Unleashing Entrepreneurial Brilliance: Navigating Success in a Dynamic World.”

The event was organized by the USEK Business School and the Asher Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Cleveland State University's Monte Ahuja College of Business, and the Business School of the American University in Cairo (AUC).

President of the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) Amin Nehme spoke on the First Panel titled “Global Perspectives on Entrepreneurship: Trends and Growth Strategies.”

In his reply to the role of social entrepreneurship in driving global innovation and growth, Nehme clarified that “there is approximately 10 million social enterprises across the world, generating around $2 trillion in revenue each year, and creating nearly 200 million jobs where one in two social enterprises worldwide are led by women.”

In his second intervention on the key trends regarding the integration of social impact initiatives, he explained about the factors affecting the shifting landscape of social entrepreneurship such as the “Increased Awareness and Adoption, the Emphasis on Impact Measurement, and the Rising of the Hybrid Model between Non-Profits and For-Profit.”

The Panel was moderated by Dr. Madonna Salameh-Ayanian, Assistant Dean for Executive Education and Associate Professor at the USEK Business School. 

The Symposium gathered as well a group of prominent experts from various sectors distributed into three additional panels on topics related to the Industry Leaders and Entrepreneurship Support Ecosystem, the Investment Strategies for Entrepreneurs, and the Innovative Clusters and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

It aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among attendees through discussions on the barriers hindering entrepreneurial ventures and recommendations on how to overcome them.

The Symposium served as a platform for researchers and practitioners with diverse backgrounds to come together, share their experiences, and present research findings addressing current entrepreneurial challenges and prospects.
