Giolli Social Cooperative was founded in Parma on November 11, 2008 and is based on the experience gained by the Giolli association in its 22 years of activity. Giolli uses the Boal’s method (Theatre of the Oppressed), together with the Paulo Freire’s conscientization pedagogy, the Community Development Approach, the Active Nonviolence as means to help the self-liberation of groups and people.
Its mission is to help individuals, groups, communities to address and solve their oppressions, through a real dialogue based on mutual respect and human rights.
Giolli Cooperativa Sociale objectives are to:
• Raise awareness about main social issues as gendre violence, racism, discrimination, etc.
• Engage communities in questioning themselves when a problem occurs, in order to be able to include people and groups against to marginalise ones.
• Promote Nonviolence as way to solve the inavoidable conflicts in society, voth in micro and in macro cosmos.
