“For people working with sustainable development and nexus approach”

By Dr. Ali Karnib

The Q-Nexus Model web tool is based on the theory of the Q-Nexus Model, it can simulate multi-sectoral quantitative analysis, it can also calculate the direct and indirect cross sectoral impacts. You may refer to the scientific published papers on the Q-Nexus theory and applications for more information, copies of these papers are available at the information hub.

The Q-Nexus Model web tool creates an environment for multisectoral coordinated planning, it allows different actors from different sectors to work together on the same multisectoral nexus project. For each project, the different actors will be identified by their user names and passwords.

The tool will notify all actors of the nexus project on all modifications made by any one of them by email and also by the notification function of the Q-Nexus Model tool. In this way the nexus tool acts as platform to allow all actors to work on the same environment and allows these actors to propose and analyze any planning scenarios and to access the scenario data and results.

Among the important innovations of this web tool is the creation of a science-based online setting for multisectoral coordinated planning (including water-Energy-Food Nexus). It allows different actors from different sectors to work together on the same multisectoral nexus project.
