As part of the EBSOMED project, the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research-CAWTAR has organized the Academy "Promoting the social economy and solidarity for a sustainable future: Mastering the 3 zeros of ecological and social transition".

Held on 24 and 25 May 2023 in Marseille, France, under the High Patronage of the Interministerial Delegation to the Mediterranean and in partnership with Euro-Mediterranean Women's Foundation and Forum Femmes Méditerranée, the academy provided a unique opportunity to examine challenges and opportunities ahead, while fostering exchange experiences and good practices between the countries in the region and beyond.

It brought together experts and economic development organizations from across the Mediterranean region. Their collective efforts help define ways to advance social and solidarity economy, promote sustainable development and meet the pressing challenges of our time.

The key topics discussed at the event included:
- Zero carbon and youth
- Zero carbon and good governance
- Zero carbon and digitization

The debates revolved around three crucial topics:
- The importance of social inclusion through entrepreneurship.
- Workplace diversity and inclusion and promoting equality between men and women
- Accessing health services and combating the exclusion of vulnerable people
