In an endeavor to enhance the various aspects of sustainable development, the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) joined the Community Partners of the Lebanon Blue Economy Ideathon Competition.

The Community comprises a group of prominent organizations such as the International Maritime Academy, Friends of Nature, MINE Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, ACTED, Entrepreneurship Club, Park Innovation, Fondation Diane, Competencies and Entrepreneurship Center, and AMWAJ.

The Blue Economy Ideathon, co-managed by Berytech and The Hariri Foundation, sets the pace for idea-stage startups, students, and young professionals to propose innovative solutions for the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources through a 3-month incubation period and various financial prizes.

It focuses on areas such as fisheries, maritime transport, coastal tourism, and marine conservation through fostering innovation, supporting early-stage entrepreneurs, and engaging Lebanese youth in sustainability and digital transformation.

The blue economy focuses on sustainably using marine and coastal resources for economic growth, better livelihoods, and job creation, all while preserving the health of our water and coastal ecosystems. It includes a diverse range of activities and industries that drive economic progress and ensure environmental sustainability.
