Recognizing the importance of strategic partnerships vis-a-vis the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) and Besme Group for International Assistance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the application of the SDGs at the national, regional and international levels.
The agreement was signed by the Founder and General Manager of Besme, Gulshan Youssef Saglam, and the President of LDN, Amin Nehme.
Given the strength that both parties have across different sectors, the two organizations will bring together their collective resources, expertise and skills, to provide a wide spectrum of activities such as awareness campaigns, empowerment projects for women and youth, capacity building workshops, training seminars, as well as researches and studies.
“Through this synergistic partnership and mutual impact, we are keen to come up with advanced and innovative solutions with long-term advantages which will benefit the target groups we aim to serve,” Saglam said.
“We acknowledge the unique potential each party brings to this collaboration and we will continue to increase our efforts to generate better social outcomes that are consistent with the desired results,” Nehme said.
The agreement mainly seeks to foster co-creation, drive inclusive socio-economic development and build more resilient communities.
The Lebanese Development Network (LDN) is a national non-profit organization “dedicated to assist individuals, communities and institutions build their capacities by conveying knowledge and improving practical performance to enable them manage the changing social requirements, catch opportunities and meet the development challenges.” LDN works in the education, culture, economy, social and health fields through the various strategic levels of Capacity Building, Social Marketing and Networking Practices, and provides Consultancy, Training and Program Development services. Besme Group for International Assistance is an independent non-profit organization that has no political or religious affiliation, and adheres to the principles of humanitarian and rights-based work, and adopts a policy of respecting human rights principles, especially the rights of women and children. Besme has a team of people with extensive experience in the field of humanitarian, legislative and developmental in Lebanon, and it takes Beirut as its headquarters. Besme has a training center with a group of experienced trainers and associate consultants working on each project that is implemented within the framework of human rights, development and peace-building, as well as a specialized team in the field of scientific research, which helps support the implementation of projects on a scientific basis.
