In the context of enhancing cultural exchange in the Euro-Mediterranean region, the Lebanese Development Network (LDN), Lebanon and CulturePolis, Greece signed a mutual agreement to advance collaboration and improve partnerships on different levels.

The agreement, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalises the joint interaction and strengthens the existing relationship between both parties on the strategic and technical levels.

It was respectively signed by the president of CulturePolis Vasileios Laopodis and the president of LDN Amin Nehme.

It mainly seeks to establish the EuroMed Culture Network (EMCN), among other activities, which constitutes a regional initiative aiming at building a common ground for collaboration among the NGOs in the Euro-Mediterranean Basin and fostering in return close collaboration with both the public and private sectors.

The Lebanese Development Network (LDN) is a national non-profit organization “dedicated to assist individuals, communities and institutions build their capacities by conveying knowledge and improving practical performance to enable them manage the changing social requirements, catch opportunities and meet the development challenges.” LDN works in the education, culture, economy, social and health fields through the various strategic levels of Capacity Building, Social Marketing and Networking Practices, and provides Consultancy, Training and Program Development services. We endeavor to enhance new paradigms for SMEs, Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship in collaboration with both the public and private sectors, and to promote the culture of democracy, human rights, dialogue and citizenship.

CulturePolis is a private non-profit organisation based in Corfu, Greece operating mainly in Europe and the Mediterranean Basin with an emphasis on the broader region defined by the European Union countries of South-Eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean. CulturePolis aims at contributing – through research, analysis, debate and dialogue, as well as targeted action in information and awareness raising on issues related to: 1) Culture and the arts in the broadest sense, 2) Intercultural dialogue and the promotion of different cultural identities, 3) Sustainability in all its facets, 4) Innovative approaches and new technologies in society and economy, and 5) Creative economy and entrepreneurship.
