The topic of this Conference is inspired by unequal distribution of resources that causes poverty and vulnerability of people. Vulnerability is a major obstacle to social and economic development. Poor people are especially vulnerable; they have few buffers or resources to cope with hazards or shocks. Yet they are significantly more likely to be affected by ill-health, unemployment, trade shocks, climate change, famine or conflict.
Sustainable poverty reduction can only be achieved and managed effectively if vulnerability is better understood.

The main goal of this training programme is to bring together a diverse group of 40 motivated experts in their vocations from around the world for training and discussions on various local economic resources that could be used to create wealth for poverty alleviation.
