It is very common nowadays that ‘networks’ in general are making tremendous contributions to service delivery and social change.
The term by itself is very expansive and holds strong characteristics of social capital, management, and mutually beneficial partnership which create a dynamic structure committed to its excellence.
LDN’s networking practice is not only to facilitate the links between individuals and/or institutions; but it also includes building effective relationships among people to add value to community life.
While the benefits for members include the enhancement of solidarity and support, the increased access to information and visibility, and the exchange of expertise and resources, the concept of LDN in this regard becomes more real in developmental engagements when non-profit, corporate and civil society interests converge.
In addition, as a ‘capacity building instrument’, LDN’s main endeavor is to assist people to improve their practices and develop their potentials on the human, organizational and institutional levels to be able to make a difference in the lives of the communities they serve.
Our perception of capacity building is not limited to the ability to take an active role in social well-being, but it is also related to the overall quality of life that nonprofits may provide.
While technical expertise is mainly developed to keep up with change, LDN’s ultimate goal is to create a safe and productive social environment where people can act, perform, and realize efficiently.
