On the 29th of June, the XPRESS Project organized its final conference with the aim to showcase the results stemming from 3 years of research and interactions with SMEs and public authorities. More specifically, participants got to know as a final remark the full effect of the project through:

The framework: insights from co-creation workshops and stakeholder cafés, which throughout the years brought together public authorities with experience in GPP (Green Public Procurement) and SMEs providing RES (Renewable Energy Sources) technologies;

Platform Building and Data: an overview of online tools available on XPRESS portal and collection of data on GPP and its financial aspect, showing the financial and non-financial impact of the Project;

Analysis of the Barriers: explaining what are the barriers for public authorities making use of GPP, what are the barriers for SMEs willing to participate in GPP tenders, what are the barriers for the adoption of RES technologies, and how to overcome them successfully as well as efficiently;

Assessment of Environmental Socio-Economic Impact of RES Innovations: overview of case studies and environmental analyses, also showcasing the stakeholders reached through the positive innovation efforts.

Following the conclusion of the final conference in Brussels, a new Stakeholder Cafè was scheduled for August 26th, 2022, at the King’s Manor in York, England. The stakeholder cafe is aimed at identifying opportunities to make XPRESS project results publicly available for UK Public Authorities and SMEs, to also give support in Public Procurements efforts, while facilitating the collaboration between SMEs and public sector for the development and adoption in renewables in regions.
