Mahmoud Santiago Chokr is a hardworking junior studying at Notre Dame University – Louaize. He is currently pursuing a B.A in International Business Management, and has so far had an experience that had made him grow in several ways.

Mahmoud has volunteered in several clubs in the university. He is currently in the football club, which has taught him discipline and how to become a team player, which will prove to come in handy in his work experience. Adding to that, he is also in the Accounting and Finance club, which has helped broaden his knowledge within the business department.

Due to his multicultural background, Mahmoud has been granted the chance to experience several cultures and lifestyles since he was born in the Dominican Republic and has lived there for 11 years. Moreover, this has developed his fluency in Spanish, adding it to English and Arabic (his native language). Being a trilingual, this has affected him positively to develop better communication with people in the workplace and in society at large.

In 2018, he volunteered as a tour guide for his hometown Kab-Elias, Bekaa. This experience has helped him expand his knowledge about the country, its history, and more importantly about how to interact in a positive manner.

Following the tragic Beirut Port blast, he knew he had to do something to help. He instantly cooperated in assisting in the restoration of damaged houses in the capital. In addition, he organized a small donation fund to provide food and shelter to people affected by the blast.

This experience shed light on a very part of him characterized by compassion, dedication and support to those in need. Moreover, it has driven him to become a strong-willed man whose ultimate goal is to make a change and spread hope to those who have lost it.

Mahmoud joined LDN for internship at Activa division for youth development.
