Rouba Fares - Lecturer, Coach and Training Expert

Rouba Fares holds a teaching diploma in Social Service from Saint Joseph University (USJ) and pursued her Postgraduate Studies (DESS) in Community health at the Lebanese University where she worked as a lecturer for several years. She has participated in a variety of social activities on different levels like children care, youth and drug addiction, and has an advanced experience in the service of people afflicted with AIDS.

She took part as well in a series of local and regional professional training seminars with the  National AIDS Program (NAP) - Lebanon on topics related to the Voluntarily Counseling and Testing I & II, and with the UNAIDS on Management of NGOs (Project Cycle Management, Strategic Planning & Risk Management), Monitoring and Evaluation System as well as Mobilization of Resources.

Fares is active on many levels. She worked with different kinds of universities, technical and vocational schools, clubs, youth movement, NGOs, CSOs, corporate sector and UN agencies. She participated in a variety of projects and training workshops with governmental institutions and international organizations such as the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with CEMEA International.

In 2010, she has been selected as Coordinator of the Regional Arab Network against Aids (RANAA) in the MENA region. In 2012, she has been selected as training expert from the UN-Habitat and the Ministry of Interior to conduct the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Local Strategic Planning for the Unions of Municipalities (Concepts of Local Strategic Planning & Procedures).

She worked as lecturer on Project Cycle Management, Strategic Planning, Proposal Writing, Monitoring & Evaluation and Volunteer Program Management at the “NGO Capacity Building Program” at LAU, a lecturer on Project Management for Educational Institutions and Organizational Strategies at USEK University as well as a Training Expert for Directors of Vocational Schools and Institutes on Management Training in partnership with GIZ.

Between 2008 and 2016, she joined the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) as Director of the ‘Capacity Academy’ as well as the coordinator of ‘Social and Training Departments.’

Rouba is now the Executive Director of Sonbola Group for Education & Development.
