LEAP: SHINE Project *Project Coordinator; Rashidieh Refugee Camp, Summers 2012 and 2013

Learning for the Empowerment and Advancement of Palestinians (LEAP) teaches English to Palestinian refugee students in order to help students pass the Lebanese Brevet exam and gain advancement to high school. Responsible for administrative work, managing daily proceedings, leading meetings with coordinators and volunteers, reporting to Program Director, scheduling trips, and teaching one English class. Coordinated a team of 20 volunteers and collaborated on projects with volunteer teams in additional camps. Focused on building and ensuring a strong relationship with local Palestinian NGO in order to implement SHINE Project. Responsible for monitoring, reporting on, and analyzing program results. Accountable for tracking financial expenses and ensuring the project remains within budget

Serving on the Institutional Outreach and Fundraising Committee. Responsible for grant applications and brainstorming and implementing outreach ideas. Accountable for communicating with and reporting back to donors. During the first year as a board member, I successfully applied for five grants and forged new LEAP relationships with two organizations. Responsible for writing and disseminating LEAP reports and promotional materials. Conducted research for future outreach, partners, and donors. All Advisory Board work is conducted remotely.
The Great Book Robbery *Communication Manager; September 2011-Present

The Great Book Robbery is a project focused on revealing the story of 70,000 Palestinian books looted during the 1948 war. Collaborating with Dutch filmmaker Benny Brunner in promoting the documentary film, active website, digital library, and art installation. Responsible for managing social media accounts, website blog, conducting interviews and contacting international media. Responsible for writing and disseminating promotional materials. Co-coordinated the winter 2013, two-week, U.S. East Coast tour.
Fulbright Program *Independent Researcher; September 2012-June 2013
Utrecht University, Netherlands
Fulbright Grant recipient for independent research within the Department of Anthropology. Conducted original ethnographic and case study research on race and racism in the Netherlands. Research to be published in peer reviewed academic journal.
International Solidarity Initiative *Media & Campaigns Team Leader; July-August 2011

Developed and coordinated media strategy for the ‘Welcome to Palestine’ campaign responsible for scheduling over 600 international activists to visit Palestine. Published English and Spanish press releases, monitored blog and social media networks. Conducted and published interviews and short videos. Assisted in launching and implementing the ‘I am Palestine’ international campaign. Collected, edited and translated media footage. Utilized social media to publicize the campaign.
